The South Dakota Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure will honor breast cancer survivors and provide breast health education and screening during the Native American Day Celebration at Crazy Horse Memorial on Oct. 12.

The Komen affiliate will provide educational opportunities, on-site mammography screenings and activities throughout the day. "Pink shawl" dancers and the Native American drum group, We Will Remember, will be part of a program honoring Native American breast cancer survivors.

Other activities will include interactive games, educational films and booths for adult participants. Vanessa Short Bull, who served as Honorary Chair for the 2009 Komen South Dakota Race for the Cure, will speak at the event.

Admission at Crazy Horse on Native American Day is free with a donation to the Food Bank.
