SIOUX FALLS - Marty Jackley, who has served as U.S. attorney for South Dakota since 2006, has been sworn in as the state's 30th attorney general.

South Dakota Gov. Mike Rounds appointed Jackley to the constitutional office after Attorney General Larry Long was named a circuit court judge.

President Barack Obama has nominated Brendan Johnson, son of U.S. Sen. Tim Johnson, to be Jackley's successor in the U.S. attorney's post.
