The Pennington County Teen Court, which is a Juvenile Diversion Program in the Pennington County State's Attorneys Office, is hosting an open house for the public on Thursday, Sept. 18, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Pennington County Courthouse.
The program is planning the event in observance of National Youth Court Month. Youth volunteers will demonstrate a mock teen court hearing and informative session.
The Pennington County Teen Court is among 1,300 youth courts nationwide and has held almost 850 youth defendants accountable for their delinquent and problem behavior through sentences imposed by juries of their peers.
