Rapid City Arts Council Board elects and promotes Dahl staff

The Rapid City Arts Council Board, which oversees management, operations and expansion of Dahl Arts Center, announced the election of five new board members and Dahl staff promotions after their Jan. 31 meeting.

Rapid City Arts Council staff promotions include: Barb Evenson, to director of community services; Kathi Maxson, to shared services coordinator, and Darla Drew Lerdal, promoted to assistant director of the Rapid City Arts Council/Dahl Arts Center.

Joining current board members on the board are Jim Wefso, general counsel, Stockman's Financial and Security First Banks; Ron Johnsen, retired lawyer and Washington D.C. lobbyist; Trish Anderson, homemaker and former city planning professional; Kevin Dietz, senior vice president, Black Hills Community Bank; and Peter Strong, director of The Heritage Center at Red Cloud Indian School. Members approved for a second board term are Jan Sohl, visual artist; Ray Tysdal, photographer; Jean Wyss, fiber artist; and Kenna Hagan, attorney, Black Hills Corp.

The 2008 elected officers of the Rapid City Arts Council include:

* Ron Johnsen and Barb Linderman, co-presidents

* Tim Trithart, Rapid City Regional Hospital, vice president

* Delmarie Toczek, Security First Bank, secretary

* Bruce Ley, BankWest, treasurer

* David Cameron, retired minister, past president.

Other sitting board members include Elizabeth Bryan, Sun Valley Estates; Lynn Hix, Behavior Management; Cindy McNeill, KEVN; Tom Murray, Modern Woodmen; and Scott Zieske, Rapid City Regional Hospital. Alderman Lloyd LaCroix acts as liaison to the Rapid City Common Council.
