Benefit concert, coat drive Friday

A Navajo musician and other Native American entertainers will perform Friday at a free program at the Little Wound School in Kyle on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. The event is collect coats, food and funds to help students.

Skylar Wolf, a blues guitarist and harmonica singer, leads a list of artists that includes Michael Bucher, a Cherokee acoustic singer-songwriter; J.D. Nash, a Southern Cheyenne country-blues-rock performer; Lady Hope of Native Era, a Lakota inspirational-hip hop-rap group; Wind Spirit Drum, a Mic-Mac-Cherokee-Lenape traditional group; and the White Lance Singers, a Lakota traditional drum group from Kyle.

The program is presented by PK Productions, LLC of Hot Springs.

The performance begins noon with the White Lance Singers, and all drums are welcome. An opening prayer will precede the benefit concert, which begins at 3 p.m.
