Shannon Rittberger, director of equalization for Butte County, has been selected to fill that same post in Pennington County.
Commissioners emerged from an executive session on Tuesday to announce that Rittberger has accepted the position and will begin work on July 15.
Rittberger replaces Robert Miller, who left the equalization office five months ago.
In Miller's absence, deputy director Richard Riech has served as the acting director of equalization.
Commissioners voted Tuesday to compensate Riech $1,000 per month for the five months he managed the office.
