People with access to an Internet-connected computer can hear the recent meeting about establishing a trail system for off-highway vehicles on the Black Hills National Forest.

Frank Carroll, spokesman for the forest supervisor's office, said recorded segments of the Oct. 15 meeting can be heard at www.fs.fed.us/r2/blackhills/news/radio/

The public can file written comments on the special recreation permit fees through Nov. 3, although Carroll said it is expected that the Black Hills National Forest Advisory Board with a view toward making a recommendation to the Forest Service on Jan. 7.

The board is considering a $20 weekly OHV permit fee, $40 annual permit and $100 commercial OHV permit. In establishing a trail system, unfettered cross-country travel will no longer be allowed on the national forest.
