Members of the Meade School Board are asking for the public's input in developing a strategic plan for the district.

Board members want to refine the district vision, mission and organizational focus. They also want to develop priorities and goals with detailed work plans for each new goal. This strategic plan would align and integrate all improvement plans and goals into one plan.

District residents can submit their comments through an online survey from Aug. 20-Sept. 12. To access this survey, go to:

Results of the survey will be used in a series of community planning meetings set for Sept. 23 and 24.

"This planning process will chart the district's course for improvement for the next five to seven years," Superintendent James Heinert said. "The development of a more specific and cohesive plan would improve our internal communication and give momentum to all our efforts with school improvement."

Bruce Miles of Big River Consulting Group from St. Cloud, Minn. has been hired to lead the strategic planning process.
