A Rapid City man who pleaded guilty to a string of house burglaries will be sentenced May 25 in 7th Circuit Court.

Earl Christopher Keyte, 38, pleaded guilty May 2 to one count each of second-degree burglary, grand theft by receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.

He faces up to 35 years in prison and $70,000 in fines.

Kevin Krull, chief deputy states attorney for Pennington County, said Keyte was arrested in November after many stolen items were found at his home.

Krull said he will be asking for Keyte to be ordered to pay a large amount of restitution to the victims of the burglaries.

"The amount is still undetermined because there is just so much to deal with right now," Krull said. "There were a lot of people involved."

Keyte has more burglary charges pending in Lawrence, Custer and Fall River counties.

Judge Merton B. Tice will sentence Keyte.
