The South Dakota Small Business Administration district office has named Bryan Vulcan, president and chief executive officer of FourFront Design of Rapid City, as the SBA South Dakota Small Business Person of the Year for 2009.
Vulcan's award was presented in Rapid City at Black Hills Community Economic Development's annual meeting May 8, where the following honors also were announced:
- Danelle "Dani" Daugherty, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Aberdeen, Minority Small Business Champion of the Year.
- Richard Hawkins II and Joel Hawkins, TreadWright, Edgemont, Small Business Exporters of the Year.
- Jenny Behlings, Jenny's Floral, Custer, Women's Business Champion of the Year.
- Lt. Col. Harvey Fitzgerald, South Dakota National Guard, Rapid City, Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year.
- Calvin "Larry" Pourier, Silver Creek Construction Corp., Rapid City, 2008 Minority Small Business Person of the Year.
