Party will welcome home rodeo contestants

A welcome-home party for area contestants at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas earlier this month will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Joe's Place on S.D. South Highway 79 in Rapid City.

The party will include a reception and a short program.

Among 2007 NFR contestants expected to attend are Chad Ferley of Oelrichs, the 2006 saddle bronc champion, who finished 11th in the world standings this year; Jeff Willert of Belvidere, the 2005 world saddle bronc champion, who suffered a broken leg in an early round at this year's NFR and finished 13th in the world standings; Jesse Bail of Camp Crook, who finished seventh in all-around and 15th in saddle bronc in the 2007 world standings; Chet Johnson of Gillette, Wyo., who finished 12th in saddle bronc; Scott Montague of Rapid City, who finished 10th in bareback; and Lisa Lockhart of Oelrichs, who finished fifth in barrel racing.
