Because of the Veterans Day holiday, Rapid City's public schools will not hold classes Monday, Nov. 10. However, the two Rapid City Public Library locations are offering a program to help kids from having to stay home being bored all day.

The "No School Discovery Day" program will be presented by local veteran, poet and artist Johnny One Feather.

He will teach children how to make Native American jewelry during a free program from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the north library at 10 Van Buren St. in the General Beadle Elementary School. He also will conduct the class from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the downtown library at 610 Quincy St.

This program is designed for school-age children and no registration is necessary. Kids can make something for themselves or a gift for someone else.
