A South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper says people were running for cover when he came upon an August 2006 gunfight at Custer State Park.

Zach Bader testified Wednesday at the Sioux Falls trial of Hells Angels bikers Chad Wilson of Lynnwood, Wash., and John Midmore of Valparaiso, Ind.

They're charged with trying to kill five Outlaws Motorcycle Club members who were shot and wounded.

Bader says he had just finished issuing a speeding ticket to one of the Outlaws when he heard gunshots.

He went to the nearby Legion Lake Resort and saw a "very chaotic" scene that included fully clothed people jumping in the lake.

Witnesses said the shooter was in a white pickup that took off.

Bader then played a videotape from his vehicle.
