A professor at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology has been named the 2008 South Dakota Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

The recipient will be announced and honored at a reception at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, in the school's Surbeck Center.

The award is considered one of the nation's most prestigious honors for undergraduate educators.
