RAPID CITY -- Sheriff Don Holloway said Pennington County's 24/7 Sobriety Program has outgrown its current location and will move.

The program, started as an experiment in a few counties by Attorney General Larry Long, monitors people convicted of drunk driving by using alcohol-detecting bracelets or by requiring twice-daily breathalyzer testing.

Holloway said the Rapid City program has 750 participants, with approximately 400 of them coming in twice a day for testing at City/County Drug and Alcohol Programs. He said the large caseload interferes with other functions such as client interviews or treatment programs at the facility.
