The Rapid City School Board will not hold a public hearing on the proposed budget for the upcoming school year when it meets at 5 p.m., Thursday, May 17, in the City/School Administration Center.
The hearing was inadvertently advertised for the Thursday meeting, according to school district business manager Dave Janak.
A copy of the proposed budget that appeared in the May 10 legal section of the Rapid City Journal announced the hearing on May 17.
Janak said the hearing most likely will be held at either the June 7 or June 21 meeting.
Under state statute, the school district must hold the budget hearing before Aug. 1.
