Programs at Oglala Lakota College and Western Dakota Technical Institute recently received the "Director's Award" for excellence in career education at the Career and Technical Education Conference in Pierre.
Over the past three years, OLC's television production program has promoted Lakota heritage by producing videos for South Dakota reservations. Students have interviewed elders on the Pine Ridge Indian reservation and also produced a student news magazine "Eyapaha."
Western Dakota's fire science program is coordinated by Mark Enright. His fire science instructors represent all fire agencies in South Dakota and every facet of firefighting.
