Light but steady snow greeted those driving into work this morning as a winter front moved into the Black Hills region.

The Northern Hills is under a winter weather advisory with the possibility of more than a half foot of snow falling in the upper elevations. Elsewhere in the Hills and foothills, forecasters are calling for 1 to 2 inches throughout the day with only light winds.

Despite the small accumulations, law enforcement agencies were responding to a number of accident reports this morning, including a two-car accident near Exit 63 in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90. The accident, which occurred about 8:15 a.m., was causing stop and go traffic headed into Rapid City.
