RAPID CITY - "Imprint," the supernatural thriller produced in western South Dakota by Linn Productions and Chris Eyre, took the top award Saturday night at the American Indian Motion Picture Awards Show in San Francisco.

"Imprint's" lead actress, Tonantzin Carmelo, took the best actress award for her performance in the movie, and Carla-Rae Holland, also from Imprint, won the award for Best Supporting Actress.

Also competing for Best Picture were "Luna: Spirit of the Whale," starring Adam Beach from Law and Order SVU, and award-winning Sundance film "Four Sheets to the Wind."

A jury panel designated by the American Indian Film Institute screened and judged the 144 films that competed for the awards.
