Longtime former Oglala Sioux Tribe official Wilbur Between Lodges will discuss the storytelling history of traditional Lakota songs at the 6 p.m. Thursday, July 24, free program at Crazy Horse Memorial.

In his presentation, "Lakota History, Culture & Song," Between Lodges will explain the purpose and provide some examples of songs, which were composed for events in Lakota life.

A fluent Lakota speaker, he served many years on the OST council, including as president, vice president and Fifth Member.

Admission to Crazy Horse is free for those attending the free program. Donations of three cans of food per person are recommended to benefit the KOTA Care & Share Food Drive. Crazy Horse is located on Highway 16/385 between Hill City and Custer.
