The Rapid City Public Library will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday, June 21, to celebrate the library's new book drop in the parking lot at Don's Valley Market, 747 Timmons Blvd., in Rapid Valley.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free hot-dog lunches will be provided to the first 100 people. The ribbon-cutting ceremony takes place at 12:30 p.m.

The Rapid City Public Library is installing the book-return drop to better serve its Rapid Valley patrons.

They can drop off books, movies, compact discs and other materials - anything except book bags.

The new Rapid Valley book drop brings the number of drop-off locations to four in the Rapid City area. Library patrons can return materials to any of the drop boxes at any time of day.

The other drop boxes are at the following locations:

Mr. Movies, 3609 Sturgis Road, in west Rapid City.

General Beadle Elementary School, 10 Van Buren St., in north Rapid City.

Rapid City Public Library main library, 610 Quincy St., in the after-hours drop box next to the drive-up window.
