Neighborhood Housing Services of the Black Hills is changing its name to NeighborWorks Dakota Home Resources.
The group works to provide decent, safe, affordable housing and revitalize neighborhoods in western South Dakota. The name change aligns the agency with a national network of 235 NeighborWorks organizations in more than 2,700 communities nationwide.
The NeighborWorks network has counseled more than half a million homebuyers, most of them with low to moderate incomes. As a result of the education, training and financial assistance, they are 30 percent less likely to default on their mortgages than American homebuyers as a whole.
There will be an open house and ceremony at 10 a.m. Oct. 3 at the group's new office, 795 Main St., Deadwood. For information, call 578-1401.
