City seeks suggestions for greenway funds

A public meeting designed to gather public suggestions about how to spend $1.7 million in federal greenway funds is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at the City/School Administration Center, 300 Sixth St., in the first floor Community Room.

The city is seeking suggestions about how to use the money on greenway, pedestrian and bike-path expansion projects.

A second public meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, in the multi-purpose room on the second floor of the Rapid City Swim Center, 125 Waterloo St. Recommendations and suggestions will be forwarded to the public works committee for discussion Feb. 12.

In addition to public meetings, the city's parks and recreation department is accepting e-mailed suggestions and comments through a link to the department's Web page at www.rcparksandrec.org, or through a link to the city's Web site at www.rcgov.org.

Letters can also be mailed to: Department of Parks and Recreation, Attention Jerry Cole; 125 Waterloo St., Rapid City, SD 57701.
