A casino robbery suspect used pepper spray on a clerk before making off with an undisclosed amount of cash Thursday, according to a release from the police department.

The incident occurred at 9:30 p.m. Thursday at the Rushmore Casino, 1808 Mount Rushmore Road.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

He is described as a slender Native American, 6 feet tall, wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head and dark sunglasses. He has a 4-5 inch “stringy” goatee and long black hair. 

The Rapid City Police Department is asking anyone with information on the robbery to call 605-394-4134.
