Lead-Deadwood overcame an eight-point first-half deficit, rallying for an 83-70 win over Belle Fourche Tuesday.

The Broncs owned an 18-10 edge early in the second quarter. The Golddiggers out-pointed the visitors 23-12 for the remainder of the quarter, claiming a 33-30 halftime advantage.

Garrett Mack (28 points) and Gabe Dirksen (23 points) combined for 51 points. Jett Rogers chipped in 11 points. The Golddiggers drained eight three-pointers in the game.

“Our two seniors (Mack, Dirksen) stepped up,” said Lead-Deadwood coach Wade Ginsbach. “We saw an opportunity in transition and turned it into a track meet. Our three-point shooting finally came around.”

For Belle Fourche, Bryce Kudlock canned 19 points, followed by Jordan Mitchell 16, Nathan Lange 15 and Levi Grubb, 10, for the Broncs.

“Rebounding has been our Achilles heel all year,” said Belle Fourche coach Nick Redden. “Anticipation is the key word of the night. We went back to our old rotation patterns on defense.”
