From old-time fun to starting the Christmas season with a bang, Belle Fourche is planning to Light up the Night Friday, Nov. 30.

The community, from businesses and rancher friends to the Tri-State Museum, Belle Fourche kicks off the Christmas season with fireworks, Christmas decoration lights and $3,000 in giveaways from the Center of the Nation Business Association.

Christmas decoration lights will be turned on at 5 p.m. followed by the 7:15 fireworks display at the Center of the Nation monument park north of the Tri-State Museum.

Many stores will be open until 7 p.m. for the early shopper.

The Tri-State Museum is open from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a look at old fashioned Christmas in the area, violin holiday music and the opening of a display of John Vainio's collection of old-time radios.

Horse drawn buggy rides in downtown Belle Fourche will base at the museum parking lot.

The museum closes at 7 in order to let staff and visitors enjoy this year's updated fireworks display originating at the area of the Center of the Nation park just north of the museum.

Center of the Nation Business Association is sponsoring the fireworks and also the first drawing of Belle Checks for shoppers in Belle Fourche. A total of $3,000 will be drawn for from entries at many local businesses.
