BELLE FOURCHE- Robert M. Anderson, 58, died peacefully in his home on Sept. 11 2017, due to cardio-vascular complications.
Robert was born to William E. and Elizabeth J (Smiley) Anderson on 17 September, 1958. He grew up and attended school in Belle Fourche. After high school graduation, Rob attended University of South Dakota and Black Hills State College. He enlisted in the South Dakota Army National Guard in 1977 where he learned and enjoyed operating heavy, earth moving equipment. He received his honorable discharge in 1983.
Rob always enjoyed heavy equipment, any kind of motorized toys and cars. He chose operating heavy equipment as his career path for the rest of his life, and enjoyed the work and his coworkers throughout his career.
Rob married Angilee Collins on 5 December, 1980 in Belle Fourche. A daughter, Amanda Mae Anderson, was born to this union.
He cherished his grandchildren and would travel to visit them whenever he could. He made sure his brothers were all up to date on their accomplishments and interests.
Rob was preceded in death by his father, Wm. E. Anderson, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth J. (Smiley) Anderson, Spearfish; brothers Wm. Blaine (Colleen) Anderson, Belle Fourche, and their children Alex and Kathryn; Chris (Autumn) Anderson, Rosemount, MN and their children Mitchell and Brett; and Eric (Amanda) Anderson of Mt. Olive, NJ and their children Erica, Liam and Cooper; Daughter Amanda Anderson and her children Taylor Anderson, Kaydince Anderson and Jeremy Curtis and Step Mother, Linda Anderson. He will also be missed by his very good friends who shared his life and enjoyed his “personal observations” as well.
A family memorial service will be held Friday, 27 Oct. 2017 at Bowman Hall, Hermann Park in Belle Fourche at 10 a.m.
