RAPID CITY- Jerry Melvin DeYoe, 72, of Rapid City, SD, passed away on Aug. 10, 2017 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
He was born on July 6, 1945 to Richard and Jane (Kimball) DeYoe in Belle Fourche. He grew up in Belle Fourche, graduating in 1963 from Belle Fourche High School. On April 14, 1966, he entered the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged on December 7, 1969. Jerry lived in various places including, Greenville, S.C., Elko, Nev., and Perryville, Mo., later returning to Rapid City following his wife’s death. He enjoyed music, books, and a good poker game.
He is survived by his daughter Jacqualine Marie DeYoe, Florence, Ky.; step-sons, Stan Turner, Kansas City, Kan. and Michael Turner, Cape Giradeau, Mo.; Step-daughters Mary Smith, Fla., and Crystal Rhyne, Fla.; Brothers, Richard (Mary) DeYoe, Belle Fourche, S.D., John (Karen) DeYoe, Rapid City, Tom (Sandra) DeYoe, Newell, S.D., Jim (Joyce) DeYoe, Tonopah, Nev. and Bob (Julie) DeYoe, Tonopah, Nev.; Sister Pati (Gary) Grajczyk, Rapid City; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen and his parents.
Graveside services will be on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche. Arrangements are in the care of Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home. Condolences may be conveyed to the family through the funeral home website.
