The spring snow has pushed back Heavy Constructors schedule on the project to replace eastbound traffic lanes on I-90 at Exit 10, which is U.S. Highway 85 leading to Belle Fourche and Spearfish, according to project engineer Steve Kamarainen with the South Dakota Department of Transportation.

The delay especially hit plans to close the ramp for the eastbound lanes from Wyoming onto Highway 85.

Kamarainen said the general contractor's staff has been reworking plans to determine what day they will close the off ramp. Tentative plans were to close the ramp by around May 3.

When that off-ramp is closed, signs will lead larger trucks onto detours toward Belle Fourche and all traffic onto alternative exits.
