The Chadron Arts Center Board of Directors is grateful to the City of Chadron for granting $10,000 in LB840 money and to Chadron Centennial, Inc., for $3,000 toward the project of refurbishing the exterior window frames and repairing the brick mortar joints at the Center. The annual membership drive for the Chadron Arts Center has begun and this, along with the aforementioned grant monies, will be a significant step in helping to complete these two projects.
The CAC relies on the membership drive, contributions from the public, fundraising activities and fees from rentals for maintenance and improvements of the building. The CAC is a 501(c)(3) and memberships and donations may be tax deductible. The annual Parade of Tables in the fall and the Fashion Show and Tea, scheduled for April 29 this year, are fundraisers that will contribute to maintaining this historic building. In 2017, the CAC was the site of eight weddings, two CSC Vocal Music Concerts, along with four rehearsal sessions and six recording sessions, two yoga/meditation sessions, and high school and college graduation receptions. Other 2017 events included a United Way Father-Daughter Dance and a Thanksgiving family dinner. Long-term renters of the facility serve over 200 youth and adults who participate in dance and gymnastic classes and use the building five days a week.
Current members will soon be receiving a letter encouraging their renewal, and potential new members will also be contacted.
