The 2018 Miss Alliance Pageant and Miss Alliance’s Outstanding Teen Pageant Saturday at the Alliance Performing Arts Center will be dedicated to the late Miss Alliance 2017 Kaelia Nelson, who also was crowned Miss Chadron in September.
Fourteen women will compete for the chance to represent the Alliance area. Last year’s winner, Kaelia Nelson of Alliance, dedicated her year of service to her personal message ‘Stomp The Stigma: Creating Conversations About Mental Illness.’
“We felt it was fitting to pay tribute to Kaelia because the Miss Alliance pageant was a big part of her life,” said Riki Hunter, Executive Director of the Miss Alliance organization. “Her mother, Shardel, started the Miss Alliance pageant in 2002 and Kaelia was a part of the program from the beginning. She also held the title of Miss Alliance’s Outstanding Teen 2012. ”
