Funeral services for Barbara Lee Kubo, age 70, of Chadron, will be Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Chamberlain Chapel with Pastor Russ Seger officiating.  Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

Barb passed away Oct. 18, 2017, at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Barb was born June 11, 1947, to Lee William (Bill) Brown Jr. and Isabelle Harrison Brown.

Barb graduated from Chadron High School in 1965 and upon graduation she married Bruce Van Vleet.  To this union were born Michelle and Stefani.  Barb, Bruce, Michelle and Stefani travelled and lived all over the globe following Bruce during his Naval career.

In 1980, Barb, Michelle and Stefani returned to live in Chadron, where Barb met the love of her life, Stephen Kubo.  Barb and Steve were united in marriage May 29, 1982, and to this union were born Amy and Heidi.

Barb loved life and was a friend to anyone and everyone she came in contact with.  She loved following all of her children and grandchildren in all of their sports.  There was never a louder voice in the crowd cheering her children and grandchildren on.
