Funeral services will be Saturday, July 27 at 10 a.m. at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron with Father Tim Stoner officiating. A wake service will be Friday, July 26 at 7 p.m. at Chamberlain Chapel.

She was born to William C. and Mae (Peters) Manion on September 2, 1935, in a sod house on her parents’ farm in rural Box Butte County.

She attended rural schools, graduated from St. Agnes Academy, and taught in rural schools while obtaining her degree from Chadron State College. She also earned a master’s degree at Black Hills State.

She married Lloyd J. Goldstedt at Holy Rosary Church in Alliance on June 9, 1956. They lived at Kimball, Alliance, Porcupine and Manderson, S.D., before moving to Chadron. Donna spent 11 years teaching young children of rural Box Butte County before she and Lloyd retired after teaching about 22 years in Pine Ridge Reservation schools.

Donna was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and assisted with funeral dinners and other projects at the church. She displayed artwork throughout her home that she painted in her painter’s club. Donna enjoyed socializing when playing cards with her card clubs. She also took joy in going to auctions to find the many treasures that she placed in her home. Donna spent much time with her husband traveling the world, visiting almost 40 countries on four continents. Her greatest joy was her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by: her husband, Lloyd, of the home; son, John, Hemingford; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Maurice Manion of Stillwater, Okla.; and sister, Dorothy Kunzman of Alliance.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Young, parents, four sisters and four brothers.
