Dear Editor,

In the Aug. 16 Chadron Record, an article titled “Audit bids shock board,” statements were made regarding “sending a message” regarding the audit bids.

We were surprised, shocked and concerned with this representation because the story was published with opinions from a board member without any attempt of verifying the validity of the comments with our firm prior to the story being published. In addition, the story made it to Chadrad and also was broadcast over the news reports on KCSR radio with the same unsubstantiated representations.

Our staff are dedicated professionals that work hard to provide high quality tax, accounting and audit services to the communities of western Nebraska and southern South Dakota. Our partners and employees live and work in this community, so we would have no incentive to increase our fees unreasonably over the going rate for similar type services. The story as published was extremely misleading and damaging to our reputation.

GLR will continue to provide high quality and reasonably priced professional services to our clients in western Nebraska and southern South Dakota that meet all professional standards with the highest levels of integrity and objectivity. In addition, we will continue to be involved in our communities and supporting the many activities we have done in the past.
