As summer is winding down and our last installment of Bands on Bordeaux (The Encore) rapidly approaches, I wanted to take a moment to thank all of those involved in making this event a success for the fourth consecutive year. Bands on Bordeaux is truly the epitome of a group effort with countless volunteers, sponsors, and vendors coming together to pull off this massive event off for our community and visitors alike.
First let me take a moment to thank and recognize our many generous sponsors. Chadron State College, Bauerkempers, Security 1st Bank, 1st National Bank Chadron, Viaero Wireless, Big Bats, Black Hills Energy, Gardner Loutzenhiser & Ryan PC, Fire and Ice Mechanical, Hencey Plumbing, FNBNP/Gregory’s Insurance, Chadron Glass & Windows, The Ridge, Scott Roberts Electric, Chadron Lumber, Subway, Morford’s Decorating Center, Wahlstrom Ford Inc., Dawes County Abstract & Title, Chadron Federal Credit Union.
Each one of these businesses contributes to the success of Bands on Bordeaux, and we simply couldn’t do it without them. Their generous sponsorships help to pay for the Bands and Sound Systems, the kids activities, and prizes and all the necessary materials needed for a successful evening.
In addition, many of these sponsors also provide us with much needed man power each evening to handle things like set-up, running the gates and fencing, clean-up/break down, and much, much more behind the scenes. We value and appreciate the time and effort each of these individuals put forth to help this event continuously run flawlessly regardless of the obstacles we seem to encounter each year.
Next I would like to thank the Chadron Chamber Board of Directors who pour so much of their time and resources into these events. They utilize their personal vehicles to transport all of our necessary equipment and materials. The spend countless hours planning, preparing, and volunteering each night. They collaborate on ideas and pool resources to provide the Chadron Community with this fun filled series of events, and for that we are forever grateful.
The bottom line is this, no one person could pull off Bands on Bordeaux successfully. It takes collaboration, time, dedication, team work, volunteers, and support from the community. I am proud to be part of an organization and community that personifies those attributes. So, THANK YOU to all who contribute and support this event and don’t forget, it’s not over yet! Join us for Bands on Bordeaux, The Encore, Thursday August 17th from 6-9 p.m. at the American Legion. Lets’ finish off Summer with one last HURRAH featuring the musical stylings of Blue Street! A local fav.
Thanks again for all the support Chadron, YOU ROCK!
