Travis Romsa—first-team all-RMAC.

Ten Chadron State College football players were recognized when the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference coaches voted for the conference’s all-stars last week.

Offensive left tackle Travis Romsa, a junior from Burns, Wyo., was placed on the first-team.

Eagles on the second-team are tight end Colt Foster of Hemingford, outside linebacker Collin Eisenman of Sheridan, Wyo., defensive tackles Truett Box of Cheyenne Wells, Colo., and Mitch Collicott of McCook and punter Zack Kozlik of Coronado, Calif.

Foster is a sophomore, Kozlik a junior and the others are seniors.

Honorable mention went to seniors Matt Barden of Aurora, Colo., at offensive guard and Brian Wood of Bakersfield Calif., at safety, and Chadron sophomores Jackson Dickerson at wide receiver and Keenan Johnson at inside linebacker.

Colorado State-Pueblo, the only RMAC team to advance to the playoffs this fall, led in first-team selections with 11, including seven on defense. Colorado Mesa, which shared the conference championship with Pueblo with 9-1 records and 10-2 marks overall, had eight first-team choices, including five on offense.

All three of the major player awards went to Mesa Mavericks. Quarterback Eystin Salum is the Offensive Player of the Year, end Blake Nelson the defensive honoree and Virnel Moon the special team’s choice.

Freshman of the Year honors went to running back Brandon Labrie of South Dakota Mines and cornerback Terrence Jackson of New Mexico Highlands.

CSU-Pueblo’s John Wristen received the conference’s Coach of the Year Award for the sixth time in 10 years since he was hired to head the revival of football at the school.
