Both Chadron High School basketball teams will be playing twice this weekend and also visit Alliance on Tuesday, Jan. 30.

The Cardinals will play at Sidney on Friday and host the Douglas Patriots from Box Elder, S.D., on Saturday.

Despite losing 49-47 to Sterling, Colo., over the weekend, the Sidney girls are 14-3 for the season and ranked No. 2 in Class B. Both of their previous losses were to Mitchell.

The Sidney boys have lost three games in a row and are 10-7.

At 8-4, the Douglas boys are having one of their better seasons. The Lady Pats began the week at 3-8.

The Alliance boys are 9-6 and will play at Gering on Friday night before hosting the Cards. The Alliance girls were 9-7 entering a game at Hemingford on Tuesday night, and will also visit Gering.

A highlight for both Chadron teams occurred at home on Jan. 12, when the girls edged Alliance 43-40 and the boys won 53-47.
