Crawford’s Blaine Flack threw for four touchdowns and ran for another, including three straight scoring drives during a 22-0 stretch in the third quarter, but the Rams couldn’t overcome a 36-6 deficit and fell 44-34 to Hemingford on Friday.
The win is the eighth consecutive for the Bobcats in the series.
Hemingford scored the first two touchdowns of the night, the first on a Miles Davis run, the second on a Miles Davis to Connor Swanson pass to go on top 16-0, but Crawford answered with a 41-yard touchdown pass from Flack to Austin Kennedy to pull within 16-6 at the end of the first quarter.
The Bobcats dominated the second quarter using touchdown runs of 23-yards and 72-yards to extend their lead to 28-6 at the break.
Hemingford had punched the first touchdown of the 2nd half in on a 40-yard Brian Turek run, but Crawford responded with three consecutive touchdown drives around a pair of Hemingford fumbles to get back within 8-points at 36-28.
Another Miles Davis touchdown run midway through the 4th extended the lead back to 16-points, before Flack found Andy Wendland in the back of the end-zone for Crawford’s final touchdown.
The Bobcats would run out the remainder of the clock to take the win.
Crawford falls to 1-1 on the season and will look to bounce back Friday at home when they host Morrill.
