After dominating the shorthanded Sioux County Warriors in their season debut on Thursday, the Crawford Rams travelled to Bayard over the weekend where they lost one game, and won another.
The Rams’ first loss of the season came at the hands of Bridgeport Friday evening. Despite leading 18-16 after the first half, Bridgeport began second half doubling the Rams 12-6 before a hard fought fourth quarter.
The Rams managed to outscore the Bulldogs 17-16 in the final frame but couldn’t quite pull off the win, losing by a final score of 44-41.
Facing the Leyton Warriors Saturday, the Rams added to their win column with another big victory, defeating Leyton 52-12.
Freshman Brysen Limbach played well in the Rams’ debut, sinking four treys. The team was led in that victory by senior Bryce Oetken who had 14 points.
The Crawford Rams girls are winless in three games this season in matches against Sioux County (34-25 loss), Bridgeport (56-11 loss), and Leyton (41-22 loss).
Both the boys and the girls hosted Gordon-Rushville Tuesday, but results were not available at time of publication. The teams will again play at home Saturday versus Garden County. Tip-off is set for 3pm.
