Five Crawford wrestlers traveled to Custer, South Dakota this weekend and all five placed, including one first place finish.

Crawford senior Trevor Nelson pinned Custer sophomore Brennan Hanes at the 1:57 mark of his final match to place first in the 132-pound class. Nelson totaled three matches and won each by pin, spending only 3:53 on the mat throughout the invite.

Next best for the Rams was Wyatt Mader who placed third overall in the 170-pound class after defeating Taylor Coffield of Sturgis 6-2. Mader was 4-1 overall at the invite.

Also placing were Spencer Jones, Dennis Vogle, and Rope Anders. Jones placed fourth in the 160-pound class, Vogle fifth in the 126-pound class, and Anders sixth in the 138-pound class.

As a team the Rams finished with 87 points, good enough for eight overall. Custer took the invite title with 190.

Hay Springs also competed at the invite, sending only one wrestler, junior Austin Anderson, who placed sixth in the 113-pund class after being defeated by Custer’s Jonathan Lewis.
