The Warrior boys began their season Thursday at home against Crawford, where they were trounced by the Rams 57-12, then tried to bounce back Saturday when they travelled to Cody-Kilgore, but were defeated by the Cowboys 59-41.
The Warriors, who are already limited to just five players due to injury and may not be getting any players back from the IR until after the new year, were immediately behind the eight-ball after being outscored by the Cowboys 20-1 in the first quarter.
The Sioux County five would eventually fight back, scoring 20 points of their own in the final quarter, but trailing 50-21 after three quarters meant the final effort was too little, too late.
Earlier in the week the team struggled against Crawford, who held the Warriors to just two points in the first half.
Tristan Hunter led the team in scoring with seven points while sinking four of six from the line. The sophomore also had 11 rebounds.
