The Sioux County Warrior girls improved their winning streak to four games Saturday at home and 5-1 overall, defeating Arthur County 31-17.
The Warriors were able to hold the Wolves to five or fewer points in each quarter of the game, and despite the bout being a somewhat defensive affair, put up decent points of their own.
Angela Johnson was a perfect three-for-three at the free-throw line and led all players with 13 points. Johnson was also the only player on either team to land a shot from behind the arc, sinking a pair of treys in the game.
Equally effective was Johnson’s teammate Morgan Edmund. The junior added 11 points and led the Warriors with six rebounds. She also sank half of her six attempts at the line.
The Warriors are back in action on Thursday during the Harrison Holiday Tournament that features Banner County, Morrill, and Crawford, in additoin to Sioux County.
