SDSU announces graduates

BROOKINGS – The following students graduated after the spring 2017 session at South Dakota State University. The students listed below completed all requirements for a degree and/or certificate program and those requirements have been verified by the appropriate college.

Leo Holman of Hot Springs makes the Dean’s List at RIT

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Leo Holman of Hot Springs, who is studying digital humanities and social sciences, made the Dean’s List for the 2017 spring semester at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean’s List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of “Incomplete”, “D” or “F”; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

Local student receives degree from Dakota Wesleyan University

MITCHELL - Dakota Wesleyan University’s Commencement ceremony took place May 7 at the Corn Palace in Mitchell with degrees conferred to 236 graduates.

Jacob Palo, Hot Springs, graduated from Dakota Wesleyan University, Mitchell, on May 7 with a Bachelor of Science degree in wildlife management and a minor in forensic science. He is the son of Gary and Mary Palo.

Mitchell - 483 students were eligible to participate in the 2017 Mitchell Technical Institute graduation ceremony held Friday, May 5, at the Corn Palace in Mitchell.

Chase Collignon of Hot Springs, graduated with a 3.50-3.74 GPA for Power Line Construction & Maintenance.

BHSU students named to spring 2017 Dean’s List

SPEARFISH - The Office of Academic Affairs at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, S.D. has released the Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. A total of 686 students maintained a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher while taking at least 12 credit hours. Students that achieved a 4.0 GPA are recognized with an asterisk (*).

Students from Hot Springs include: *Bailey Beougher; Ashley Bilbrey; Jessa Birkholt; Erika Cerveny; Ty Hill; and David Steffen.
