Westerners to meet Friday, February 23. The Jedidiah Smith Corral of Westerners will meet at the Pine Hills Retirement Community. Our program will feature Arch Riordion (Sheriff of Buffalo Gap) presented by Cal Larive. Lunch will be served at 12:30 with the program to follow. For a lunch reservation please call 745-6171. This week at the Senior Center we have our fund raiser bingo on Saturday Feb. 24, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Ten cents per game. Come and enjoy the fun!
Hot Springs Band and Choir
Hot Springs band and Choir will be hosting a spaghetti dinner at the American Legion Saturday, Feb. 24 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Entertainment provided by the high school band and choir students. Proceeds go towards the band and choir's trip to compete in the Elich Gardens' Band and Choir Days in Denver during May.
The Fall River County Democrats
The Fall River County Democrats will host their monthly Potluck and Meeting on Tuesday, February 27th at the Brookside Hall, Hot Springs. Candidate for SD District 30 Senate, Ina Winter will be our guest speaker at the February meeting. All Democrats and Independents are encouraged to attend the monthly meeting. The potluck will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the meeting to follow at 6:00pm.
Hot Springs Community Blood Drive
The Hot Springs Community Blood Drive will be held Thursday, March 1st from 11:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., at the Mueller Civic Center Annex, 801 S. 6th Street. For an appointment: Contact Nancy Lamb at 307-461-2265, or go to www.bloodhero.com and enter the code: hotsprings to sign up on line.
Donors can now save time and fill out their Fast Track Health History Questionnaire online at www.unitedbloodservices.org the day of their donation. To donate blood, volunteers must be at least 16 years old (16 & 17 year old donors need a minor donor permit which is available online) and be in good health. Type 0 donors are especially encouraged to donate. During the Winter flu season we encourage healthy people to keep their donation appointments as the holidays and winter weather always cause a shortage in blood donors.
Southern Hills Holistic Fair
Saturday, March 3, 2018 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Hot Springs at the Mueller Center. Come see options for healthy, sustainable living, neat stuff for sale, helpful products, services and information. Fun for the whole family! Come tune up Your mind, body and spirit!
Admission is $2 ($1 goes to the Hot Springs’ Food Bank). Admission includes all speakers and activities. Kids 12 and under are free.
Musings from Metro Hermosa
