The Hot Springs boys basketball team secured the first seed in the A8 region playoff bracket with a commanding victory over Rapid City Christian(RCC) Friday night.
The home game was packed. The final regular season game had major implications for the post season. The winner of the contest would receive the number one seed in the A8 region along with a first round bye in the regional tournament.
The Bison were in control of the game from the start, jumping to a 27-15 lead at halftime. When it was all over, Hot Spring had bested RCC with a score of 72-39.
Coach Aaron Noteboom said this on the game, "Overall, I thought we played well against RCC. With them being the number one seed in our region and us at number two, we knew this was an important game in regards to the playoff picture. Prior to the start of the season we set a goal to be the number one team in Region 8 and clinch home court advantage going into the playoffs. With this win we were able to accomplish that goal."
Scoring leaders for the Bison included Matt Norton and Logan Gooder. Both put up 15 points. Logan Barndt and Morgan Harkless weren't too far behind with 11.
