August 8, 1942 – September 25, 2017

Donald Raymond “Donnieray” Bradbury, 75, passed away September 25, 2017, in the arms of his loving wife, in Hot Springs.

Don was born August 8, 1942, in Denver, Colo., to Donald E. and Betty J. (Nickeson) Bradbury. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army from 1962-1965. Don married his beautiful ex-wife Lynn and they cherished their three daughters; Yvette Bradbury, Tracy (Jerome) Carter, and Katherine “Katie” (Kurt) Beard. Later Don married the love of his life, Therese Redmond and they shared 16 wonderful years together. They enjoyed spending time with their extended family and group hugs with their giant dog “Duke”.

Don shared his love and commitment to his community through involvement, in the American Legion Post 71, Shriners, Masons, and Elks. Don’s love of the great outdoors could be seen through wild country rides in his 1974 Dodge power wagon. He also enjoyed shooting and teaching others those skills with respect for gun safety. Don was in the Brotherhood of National Automatic Sprinkler Fitters Local 669 for 30 years and was a 49 year member.

Don survived by his wife, Therese Bradbury; daughters, Yvette Bradbury, Tracy Carter; step-sons, Brandon Manriquez and Mark Strobel; grandchildren, Shannon Bradbury, Branden Carter, Lauren Carter, Ayden Strobel, Ayla Strobel; great grandchild, Reece Carter; nephew, Chalmers Bradbury and numerous cousins. And his brother and sister-in-law, Patrick (Nancy) Redmond and Melody Redmond-Kelly.

Don was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Bradbury; daughter, Katie Bradbury.

A Vigil will be held 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 5, 2017, St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs.

Funeral Mass will be held 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 6, 2017, St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs with Fr. Grant Gerlach as Celebrant. Interment will be held at a later date, at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO. The family would like to invite you for a time of fellowship after the service at the American Legion Post 71 in Hot Springs.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been establish in Don’s name to benefit the St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church, PO BOX 969, Hot Springs, SD. 57747. God bless America, God bless the American Legion Honor Guard, God bless the American Legion Riders Post 71.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
