HOT SPRINGS – In an effort to improve the customers’ comfort and movie going experience, the Hot Springs Theatre has recently completed two major projects.
In preparation for colder winter weather, the heating system has been reworked and adjusted and now provides clean, comfortable, radiant heat using the original radiator system.
In response to customer comments, an investment to improve the audio quality of the new sound system has been completed. The building was built well before the current technology was available in today’s quality surround sound systems and did not fully support the new stereo sound system. The current system, recently installed in conjunction with the new digital projector, consists of twelve separate speakers which allows the audience to fully experience the action on the screen.
After a scientific sound test was conducted by audio specialists, it was determined that additional measures were needed in order to maximize the audio experience for the audience. This included the installation of acoustic panels and curtains throughout the cinema along with adjusting and redirecting three of the speakers that are located behind the screen. The installation of the acoustical panels had a secondary value in that they have also improved the visual appeal of the surroundings. A second sound test was conducted at the conclusion of the project to insure that the objectives were met and that the sound quality matched the high resolution of the digital picture.
The owners invite the public to come and enjoy the new improvements that provide an ultra high quality entertainment experience in a comfortable setting at a very reasonable price.
