Jeannie Lin (Wall) Zuege, 71, died peacefully in her sleep with a book in her hands on November 9th of 2017, in Hot Springs, South Dakota. She has joined her husband Alfred Zuege in heaven, who she’d been with since childhood, just two years after his own passing on July 8th, 2015.

She was born on August 2nd, 1946, to Richard and Laura Woods Wall, in Binkelman,

Nebraska. Jeannie loved to complain about Donald Trump and watch Dr. Phil; and especially loved to teach and correct grammar. Jeannie was well known for having a beautiful singing voice and a gift for music.

Alfred and Jeannie went to college in Kearny, Nebraska. They both began their careers as teachers in Cozad, Nebraska. Jeannie was a title one English teacher and Alfred specialized in mathematics. They soon moved to Hot Springs in South Dakota, where Jeannie taught the second grade for many years. They were married on December 19th, 1965, at the united Methodist church in Haigler, Nebraska. Jeannie and Al loved the home that they built together just outside the town of Hot Springs.

Jeannie met and made friends with Nancy Scott and Francis Bustos, fellow teachers, shortly after beginning her career. They were lifelong friends. Her sons Kurt and Zach, and her daughter Kim Zuege, her grandson Jamie Zuege, her sisters and brothers Carol Flamming, Duane Wall, Dwight Wall, and Merry Lu Wall Simmons still carry on.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Laura, and her sister Joann Gayle.

Memorial services will be in Haigler, Nebraska, on December 3rd. 2017.
