ChallengeHS deeply appreciates everyone who supported us in 2017.
Memorial Day: you turned out in record numbers for the third annual Stars, Stripes & Steps Memorial Day Stair Challenge. Thank you to climbers, sponsors, beloved volunteers and all who spent the day with us. We added a half-marathon to the venue and a Day in the Park, with music, food and kids zone, raising $2,975 for Hot Springs’ Boys & Girls Club!
September 11th: you honored the day by arriving, again in record numbers, at 6:30 a.m. for the fourth annual 911 Grand Stair Challenge. Perhaps you climbed Battle Mountain Grand staircase. Perhaps you sang, prayed, cheered or volunteered. We are deeply grateful to all, especially the 67 people, ages 4 to 79, who together climbed 605 flights, or 85,305 steps; one in bunker gear, two barefoot, some using canes, some recovering from surgery or illness. An anonymous donor pledged $1.00 for every flight climbed to ChallengeHS, then matched it for hurricane relief; thus $605 went to ChallengeHS and $605.00 to Samaritans Purse. All because you climbed out of bed on a cool September morning and gave your precious time, joining your neighbors to honor and remember the heroes and the fallen!
Boys & Girls Club Kids: You designed logos, ‘painted’ 100 finisher medals and swag bags and spent many hours collecting trash on the streets, trails and steps of Hot Springs in your Litter Bug Crew shirts. Thanks kids, we love working with you!
Thank you Fall River County!
