LEAD – The Hot Springs Lady Bison volleyball team ended their season last Tuesday, Oct. 31, in the first round of the Region 8A playoffs when they fell to the No. 2 seeded Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers by a score of 3-0.

The Lady Golddiggers would win all three of the games by narrow margins, including 25-23, 25-22 and 25-20. Later in the week, Lead-Deadwood would fall to third-seeded Rapid City Christian by a score of 3-1.

Rapid City Christian and Belle Fourche now advance from Region 8A to the statewide Sweet 16 tournament, which takes place today, Nov. 7, where overall No. 3 seed Belle will play No. 14 Winner in Wall, and No. 12 seed Rapid City Christian plays No. 5 Miller in Pierre. The No. 1 seed this year is Sioux Falls Christian, who plays No. 16 Mobridge-Pollock in Huron.

Each of the eight winners in the Sweet 16 advance on to the State Class “A” Tournament, which will take place in Rapid City on Nov.

Madison Russell: 8/9 serving; 19/26 w/5 kills; 27/27 w/14 assists setting

Diamond Miller: 6/7 serving; 14/18 w/5 kills
